DSL-AC68U Merlin based firmware by HGG and others
HGG released after long absence a new firmware DSL-AC68U_380.70_HGG-FINAL.trx and Beta DSL-AC68U_380.70.1_HGG-RC2.trx for only this popular DSL-router (Hugo Gomes has been  well known from snb forum in the past).
His firmwares are based on Merlins-fork, so quite all features know on RT-AC68U will be available for DSL-AC68U too with this.

I know nothing similar for DSL-types, so maybe interesting for some here to extend the usage of their modemrouter.
Tested his RT-version and working well for me.
Like on Merlin there is probably no Aimesh support (cant verifiy, dont have DSL-type anymore).
But as he uses old wifi-drivers you could up your WiFi-coverage by 6dB and more (not recommended over 300mW as there will be more distortions than faster speed).

Interested - you could PM for contact as he doesnt make it publicly available for some reasons.

Here some screenshots of a happy forum member:

And another guy xantier wrote last Merlin for DSL-AC68U on his own maybe released on github:

This Forum was originally created to provide a means to allow users of ASUS (SOHO) Routers - both Wireless and xDSL (modem) based to freely communicate within a Community type forum where members can work together towards sharing experience, knowledge and ideas, I have recently also been asked to include Netgear and AVM wifi / modem based routers for discussion. All I ask is that we are all fair and reasonable, we try to add value where we can and not use this forum for other non community agendas and lastly, please feel free to dop me a message offline if you feel in anyways I can improve upon this site etc.
