ASUS DSL AC56U + ASUS RT56U DDR-WRT
#71
Ok

Received my new TP Link VR2800.

Now am well chuffed with the advice given and am really happy with the new Router. I tested IPV6 and it is now reachable when connected through the TP LINK. So far so good but only had it setup around 1hr or so. But everything seems a 100% improvement and very easy Dashboard. I have still got the ASUS RT AC56U Bridged to it for my VPN. Not a big issue but wondering this: -

When I enable IPV6 on the ASUS RT, I test the IPV6 and the IPV4 is showing as the VPN but the IPV6 is showing as Sky Broadband. I have disabled it for the moment but is there a possibility of having IPV6 through the VPN ASUS or strictly IPV4???

As said everything working correctly and don't think any settings need changing on the TP LINK as all is fine. Propper piece of kit this is to be honest.

Another question, like the ASUS is there a Custom Firmware for the TP LINK or factory only option? Don't think I need it but just questioning it. Kept the ASUSWRT MERLIN on the RT and so far so good. This Router seems up to the job and so far so good...

Cheers All that have helped me, most appreciated...

Glad all seems to be going well with your new toy, alas no third party firmware's for TP-Link modem/router combo's.

Unsure regarding your NordVPN, is there an option within how you set-up NordVPN to change from IPV4 to v6?

What does it say under System Log > IPV6 for the RT router?

This Forum was originally created to provide a means to allow users of ASUS (SOHO) Routers - both Wireless and xDSL (modem) based to freely communicate within a Community type forum where members can work together towards sharing experience, knowledge and ideas, I have recently also been asked to include Netgear and AVM wifi / modem based routers for discussion. All I ask is that we are all fair and reasonable, we try to add value where we can and not use this forum for other non community agendas and lastly, please feel free to dop me a message offline if you feel in anyways I can improve upon this site etc.
